Paradigm Horology was founded by Ryan LeClair in London, Ontario, Canada, with one simple idea in mind: to challenge the way people think about modern watchmaking. For too long, quartz watches have been viewed as lesser than mechanical timepieces, when in reality, a well-built quartz watch can offer incredible accuracy, reliability, durability, and everyday practicality. Paradigm Horology exists to shift that perspective.
The name says it all. A paradigm shift is a change in the way something is understood, and that is exactly what we hope to bring to the watch world. We believe a watch does not need to be judged only by the movement inside, but by the complete experience it delivers: the design, the finishing, the materials, the comfort, the accuracy, and the pride you feel when you wear it.
Our Story
Paradigm Horology is proudly Canadian owned and operated from London, Ontario. As with Paradigm Horology, our approach is personal, transparent, and quality driven. We are not interested in mass-producing forgettable watches. We want to create pieces that feel considered, unique, and enjoyable to wear, whether you are new to watches or have been collecting for years.
We believe quartz deserves more respect. We believe automatic watches still have an important place. Most importantly, we believe watch enthusiasts should have more choice, better value, and fewer outdated rules telling them what makes a watch worth wearing.
Paradigm Horology is about changing the conversation. It is about building watches that are practical, stylish, reliable, and thoughtfully made. It is about proving that great watchmaking is not defined by one type of movement, but by the care, honesty, and purpose behind the finished piece.

At Paradigm, we are committed to delivering the highest quality timepieces at an accessible price. Our philosophy revolves around offering unique and limited-run watches that represent both exceptional value and distinctive design. We believe that luxury should be both attainable and enduring, and our mission is to create timepieces that you can treasure for years and pass down through generations.
Why Paradigm?
Full Transparency, we have nothing to hide, we are proudly Canadian and our timepieces are produced just outside of Hong Kong. We work with several of the top manufacturers in the region to produce what we think is the highest quality timepieces anywhere in the world at this price point. Our quality control is second to none and our fit and finish is equal or better than watches that sell for 2 to 3 times our price point. We manufacture in extremely low numbers, typically 30-40 pieces per model on any given production run which means you will have a very limited and unique timepiece, and it also means we can really focus on getting each piece as close to perfect as we can.
Our core commitment is to our customers, and so far our customers have nothing but praise for our customer service and the quality of our timepieces. We can’t wait to show you how good our Makoto watches really are.
